The lead up to Christmas

Here are some pictures of our last few weeks leading up to Christmas, we had so many fun learning opportunities!

We tied ourselves in a human knot to learn about communication and teamwork!

It was pretty tricky!

Noah's Ark Zoo Farm came in to talk to us about the question "Should animals be kept in zoos?"

They showed us real life objects made from animal skin - it made us very sad!

But it was pretty cool to be able to touch real zebra hair!

...and to see a tigers skull!

We learnt that snake skin feels just like our finger nails

Can you guess what animal this bag was made from?

Some of us guessed it straight away!

This snake's skin was nearly the length of our classroom when we unrolled it!

We asked a lot of questions and then...

...we got to touch some LIVING animals!

There was the ever so soft chinchilla...

...and a wriggly corn snake...

Did you know that 50 chinchillas die every time one chinchilla fur coat is made? 😟

We sorted some pictures endangered animals to see if we knew which were the most endangered and which were the least

Then we looked at real artefacts - what do you think this is?

It's a tooth! (Miss Mitchell can't remember which animal so maybe you'll have to help me when we get back to school!)

The next activity took a lot of bravery and a lot of us overcame our fears! You're about to see lots of silly faces!

Then finally we met a leopard tortoise

For our Christmas dinner at school we made (s)elfie hats.

On the last day of school we played some fun games to celebrate our hard work this term

and we got the treat we have all been waiting for - a class movie!

Just in case the cards didn't get home - here we all are showing off our beautiful robin landscapes.
Above is our performance of our dance related to Buddhism - we used yoga poses and meditation music to create it. All of the positions and movements were the children's own ideas.

and last, but not least, our class collage of Buddha finally came together after weeks of hard work!

For Term 3 our topic is 'Light and Shadow'. Below is the homework list for parents and children. Homework is due every Friday. PE will be on Tuesdays (freestyle gymnastics - parkour) and Wednesdays (tag rugby).
